Dry Eye Contact Lenses

The importance of Dry eye contact lenses can be understood by the fact that more than 10 million Americans are suffering from dry eye problems. Sometimes, due to lack of tears and composition of tears, people may suffer dry eyes problems. Sometimes, due to excess use of contact lenses people may feel dryness in their eyes and this can lead to dry eyes problems.

Dry eye contact lenses may help people to get relief from dry eyes because these lenses contain 30 to 75 percent water, which is useful to remove dryness from your eyes.  People use different sizes of dry eye contact lenses, which will depend on size and schedule to use contact lenses.  Soft contact lenses contain more water and it is used to dehydrate water. Sometimes, people begin to rub their eyes across the surface of the cornea this may cause microscopic hair like structures that exist on the outer most layer of the cornea to help in keeping the tear film stable.  Sometimes, poor tear film stability of dry eye contact lenses may result dry eyes problems. 
 
It has been recommended by doctors to use Dry eye contact lenses in waking hours and keep them clean and hygienic.
 
Dry eye contact lenses are made by polymeric materials that do not contain any water this contact lenses are called rigid gas permeable lenses. These contact lenses are very hyperbolic and they repel water in the tear film. These contact lenses are specially designed to enhance their wetting characteristics this will make them compatible with the tear film.  This mechanism of Dry eye contact lenses make them more stable with the tear film.  If a person wants more stiffness from contact lenses then they are recommended to use rigid gas permeable lenses.

Dry eye contact lenses can provide greater improvement over eyeglasses for people who do not want to use eyeglasses. These lenses are comfortable and successful.
